Hosted in Basel by our project partner, Port of Switzerland, at the premises of the Hafenmuseum Basel, the MultiRELOAD Consortium came together for a productive meeting to review the current progress of the project, evaluate the milestones achieved, and address the challenges that lie ahead.

Since our last meeting in Duisburg, the project has made significant strides. The "Transporting Bulk Cargo in Multimodal Containers" pilot project, led by TTS Austria, has been successfully implemented. Another major achievement is the "Multimodal Node Digital Twin", developed by our partner Prodevelop. Both of these pilot projects offer innovative solutions to improve multimodal transport, boost economic efficiency, and reduce the environmental impact of inland waterway transport (IWT).

The Basel meeting also provided a platform to assess preliminary results, with two years already behind us since the launch of MultiRELOAD. While there have been challenges along the way, the project has consistently delivered promising outcomes that will have a lasting impact beyond its limited lifespan.

The gathering in Basel allowed us to reconnect in person, and we even had the chance to enjoy the beauty of the city with a boat ride on the Rhine. Overall, the meeting reaffirmed our collective commitment to innovation, collaboration, and the successful implementation of the MultiRELOAD project.
