We are excited to share two brand-new short films showcasing the MultiRELOAD project's innovative demonstrators – developed to bring smarter, more sustainable operations to inland terminals.
These two digital solutions focus on automation and predictive maintenance, helping port operators boost efficiency, reduce costs, and pave the way for future-ready logistics.
Demonstrator B1: Real-time automation of cargo handling in inland terminals
This solution supports the digitalization of loading and unloading processes at Combined Transport Terminals. By using camera sensors at the rail gate, the system provides real-time information about the location and status of cargo. It also enables the automatic detection and storage of total train length and wagon positioning – key steps toward building a comprehensive digital twin of terminal operations.

Demonstrator B2: Predictive maintenance powered by cloud-based monitoring
The second demonstrator focuses on predictive maintenance of inland port equipment. This cloud-based system integrates condition monitoring with additional sensors on terminal cranes. It also enables automated crane driving that adjusts to wind conditions, reducing energy consumption and wear. The result? Improved equipment uptime, fewer breakdowns, and smarter asset management.
